Matchless London is a British luxury brand, born as a motorcycle maker in 1899, that also creates jackets for the movies. As a freelance photographer and retoucher, I shot its e-commerce catalog, including the line made for Captain America: Civil War and the collection signed by Arnold Schwarzenegger, a long-running collaboration. Leather is hard to photograph. In the studio I built a dedicated light setup for each jacket, controlling reflections while bringing out the character of every leather; when one setup wasn't enough, I shot the same jacket under different lights and composited them in post-production. A ghost mannequin gave every piece the volume of being worn, with the inner label visible. The images ran on the e-commerce site and in the brand's campaigns.
